My client Artone – Furniture by Design retained me to design a complete hospitality room of furniture to include a kitchenette, a health center, a closet with storage for ironing board etc. and a desk (a bed was not required). My design was to be a combination of metal frames and wood cabinetry. The self-contained kitchenette includes a microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, sink and storage. ​The health center includes a workout bench, exercise mat, set of free weights in a lockable drawer, bocce ball, holder for your i pad (for your work out videos) towels etc. The closet has a mirror face and opens forward; on the left side one hangs the clothes and on the right side there is a pull-down ironing board with storage for the iron. Other pieces included are a freestanding desk and a luggage storage unit with a pullout workstation. The extremely unique contemporary look of all the furniture pieces also introduced at the BDNY show the following year was a Best of Show Finalist, an award-winning design.
